Three men appear at Abraham's tent in the heat of the day. Abraham runs to meet them, bows, washes their feet, and prepares a feast. They eat. And then one of them says: 'Where is Sarah your wife?' The visitors know her name. The promise of a son is renewed — Sarah hears it from inside the tent and laughs. Then God reveals to Abraham what he is about to do to Sodom, and Abraham does something unprecedented: he argues with God.
