Abraham and Abimelech

Abraham moves south to the Negev and Gerar. He tells Abimelech that Sarah is his sister — the same half-truth he told Pharaoh in Egypt. God appears to Abimelech in a dream to prevent him from touching Sarah, declares Abraham a prophet, and Abraham intercedes. The chapter is shorter and more theologically refined than the Genesis 12 parallel: here God is clearly the one protecting Sarah, and Abraham's status as intercessor is explicit.
