Jacob Steals the Blessing

Isaac is old and blind. He calls Esau, his firstborn, and asks him to hunt game and make savory food — so he can give him the blessing before he dies. Rebekah overhears. She moves immediately: she dresses Jacob in goatskins to mimic Esau's hairiness, prepares the food herself, and sends Jacob in to receive the blessing meant for his brother. Isaac is suspicious but cannot see. The blessing goes to Jacob. When Esau returns, there is nothing left. He weeps with a great and bitter cry. He plans to kill Jacob after their father dies. Rebekah sends Jacob away.
